The weather was great, club participation was outstanding and our new location by the fair entrance brought big crowds to view the railway. We all had a great time and I think the public really enjoyed it too. Thank you to all members who helped with set up, running the railway over the weekend and take down on Monday. Take a look at the videos and photos below.
We have lost 2 long time club members this August, Louise Sewall and Richie McGorty.
Richie had not been active since the pandemic due to health issues although a few of us had lunch with him in June. He was in good spirits and we had an enjoyable time.
Louise, on the other hand, had been attending meetings until very recently but more so was an integral part of our club as editor and publisher of Smoke n' Cinders and as webmaster for ligrs.club. Big shoes to fill and she was so good at it. And "it" was always done with patience and kindness.
They will both be missed.
